2008

Oxford Dysfluency Conference 2008

Planning for this is at an early stage, but expect an announcement in the next three weeks.

1st Nordic Conference on Stuttering and Cluttering

(May 21st to 23rd, 2008 in Nyborg, Denmark)

2007

The 9th Biennial CSA Conference for People Who Stutter

(August 16th to 19th, 2007 in Toronto, Canada)

Since 1991 CSA (formerly CAPS, the Canadian Association for People Who Stutter) conferences have provided a chance for people to share thoughts and ideas about stuttering, make contacts in the community and gather information on research and advances in treatment. People who stutter, their family and friends, as well as therapists and practitioners can all benefit from the unique experience of this international event.

World Congress for People Who Stutter

(May 6th to 11th, 2007 in Cavtat - Dubrovnik, Croatia)

The theme of the Eighth World Congress is Inclusion. The organisers are looking for all types of presentations: research papers, experiences of people who stutter, therapists' experiences of working with PWS, workshops by PWS and/or therapists. (I've been to Cavtat and Dubrovnik - absolutely beautiful. I'll certainly be at this congress!)

Thoroughly enjoyed this Congress. Met some really interesting people and renewed some old acquaintances. Some interesting papers and good to see both Mark Irwin and Mark Onslow together!!! ISA elected a new Chair, Benny Ravid from Israel. Mark Irwin will be quite a hard act to follow. Some moans from some people about the cost of the Congress. But everything has to be paid for - I don't see how you can run these events for any less, unless you get lots of sponsorship. Be interesting to see how much the next congress in China costs. But my main memory of the Congress is the stunning scenery and everyone enjoying themselves so much.
